Janice Holman and I will celebrate 37 years of marriage this December. Two biological daughters and 2 adopted Korean sons later, our family now also includes 4 grandchildren we enjoy spoiling. We are so fortunate that all of our kids are in the central Wash. area except our youngest son who is in San Diego, serving his country in the Navy. I started playing in dirt before I could walk and still do. We began farming in 1975 and still do. While farming has had it's ups and downs, it allowed us to raise a farm family, for which we are thankful. We now live in the middle of a 2300 acre wheat and apple ranch located in the Blackrock Valley, 15 miles east of Moxee. Our nearest neighbors are the deer and elk, coyotes and rattlesnakes, and species of birds too numerous to count that inhabit the area. Now that the kids are gone, we enjoy the solitude and focus our love on Killer, our cat, and Bear, our 3-legged Aussi wonder dog. Fortunately the kids and grandkids come often to Camp NanaPapa to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet, and sample some of the wonderful food we enjoy cooking. When not chasing salmon and steelhead up and down the Columbia or chasing Wily Wahpiti around the hills, you might find us in our Element crossing the Cascade Curtain for a Mariners game. More often however, we will be closer to home cooking on our Big Green Egg, throwing some ribs on one of our pits, or working out a new recipe in our Dutch ovens. Also, from time to time, if you look closely on the highways and biways you might spot a gnarly biker and his babe on their 04 H.D. fxdli headed off to parts unknown in search of a little restaurant with a great meal or a cool tavern with cold beer and warm hospitality. See you all soon.

After Top-Hi I went to the University of Washington, graduating in 1968. I met my wife, Karen, in college and we were married right after I graduated. We will celebrate our 36th anniversary next month! I then spent three years in the Marines, including a tour in Vietnam. After that it was law school at Gonzaga, graduating in 1974. My first job was with the Justice Department in Washington, DC. After 5 years of that I joined a law firm in Tacoma where I stayed for 10 years. Since 1989 I have been with my current law firm, Heller Ehrman, in its Seattle office. The firm has 12 offices around the world and over 700 lawyers. I do litigation: environment, natural resources, securities and accountant's liability. Karen and I now live in Bellevue. No kids but we have a great relationship with nephew Jeff and niece Molly, twins age 11 who like to come for sleepovers and an action packed game of soccer. Karen and I have had the good fortune to do a lot of traveling. My favorite trips have been to Africa including Kenya, South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe. I would love to be a wildlife photographer some day. We have also spent a lot of time in Europe, Hong Kong, Thailand and Nepal. Nepal was a hoot! We rode elephants looking for tigers! |

At the 10th, Dana reported that she had graduated from Central in 1968 with a B.A. degree with highest distinction with a mathematics major and Spanish minor. She then pursued graduate studies in mathematics at the UW where she received her M.A. . I graduated U. of Wash. in 1971 with a M.A. in mathematics. Jobs were thin on the ground at the time; so I worked in offices until 1973 when I got an engineering job at Boeing's. I had traveled to Israel in 1972 for several months and had met my future husband. I left my job at Boeing's in 1976 to get married in Israel to a very nice man, Joel Cordish. I have lived in Jerusalem since then with my husband. I have not been back to the USA.. By age 40 I decided to pursue my latent desires and took music lessons. I ended-up playing bassoon in the local orchestras. I have raised small birds for the last 15 years and trained talking parakeets. I retired a year and a half ago from a difficult job. This gave me time to complete a course in homoeopathy by correspondence. Surprise, two years ago my mother came to live with me after my youngest sister died suddenly of cancer. She is 88 and just now getting used to not being in Buena anymore. Are we safe here? Yes, if we don't go to public places. |

One year after graduation, I married Art Macias and we moved to Seattle. We still live in Seattle and on September of this year Art and I celebrated our 39th anniversary. We have three wonderful girls. Debbie is the oldest daughter, then came Anne Marie seven years later and then after another seven years Alicia arrived. We are very fortunate to have 2 granddaughters, Nina and Sophia. Debbie lives in Mill Creek and Anne Marie and Alicia live in Woodinville. We are a very close family and we have lots of fun together. When our youngest daughter Alicia turned 21, we celebrated in Las Vegas along with 25 other family and friends. We have traveled to Hawaii, took a Caribbean cruise and will travel to Puerto Rico this year to meet our new son-in-law's relatives. I have worked for the Dow Chemical Company, Van Waters & Rogers and HNTB Corporation which is an engineering company. I recently changed careers and I am now working at the City of Issaquah as a Permit Technician. It is a fun and challenging environment. Life has treated us well. See you all at the reunion. I graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Math in 1968. Three days after graduation I received a draft notice, and wound up seeing Vietnam from the front seat of a helicopter. After returning stateside in 1971 and receiving an “early out” from the Army, I spent the next two years touring the western US in a polka dotted dune buggy. After running out of money and being forced to get a real job, I began a career in computers in 1973. Two years later another major change in my life occurred, and I received the Lord Jesus and was born again. Then in 1976 Susie and I were married, and we had our first three children (Mary, Tim, and Naomi) while living in Southern California. In 1985 we moved to Birmingham, AL, and had three more children (Hannah, Rebecca, and David). In Birmingham I was involved in two successful healthcare company startups, which were eventually sold and became the healthcare division of Computer Sciences Corporation. In 1995, we moved to Atlanta, GA, where I’ve done consulting work for several healthcare software companies, and am now working remotely (telecommuting) as an application architect for CSC in Birmingham. Susie and I are happily married, enjoying a very sweet marriage life and church life here in Atlanta. We just recently had our first grandchild. I’m hoping to see you at the reunion, but plans are still not finalized, because we’re having to coordinate with some other family activities at or around the same time. The family picture that I’ve included is a year old, taken in November, 2003. Back
row: Mary (25), Becky (16), and Hannah (18) |

Hi Guys!! 40 YEARS!!!!! It doesn’t seem that long ago – I still have the good memories. After graduation, I went and helped Uncle Sam in the Army from 1966 to 1969. Leaving the Army, I attended YVC for 2 years and then Evergreen State College for 2 years. I worked for the U.S. Forest Service for 10 years. Federal money was being cut back, so I came back to the Valley and worked at various jobs. My recent job is installing Satellite TV systems. The last couple of years, I only do the TV installation thing during the winter, and then I repair and build lawnmowers during the summers. Somewhere I got married, had four kids, and then 7 grandkids. Hope I see you all at the big barn dance, Your Classmate, John Wagner |

After high school I attended automotive trade school, then went to work at a Ford dealership in the Tri-cities. Got married to Grace Barnett & we had 1st daughter, Deborah . We moved to Yakima in 1968 where we soon had 2nd daughter, Laura, & I worked for Valley Ford until 1973 -- where I had worked my way up to service manager. We then purchased White Pass Garage. We moved to Terrace Heights in 1977 because of the kids' interest in horses. We owned several horses over the years & the girls went thru the 4-H & open horse showing thing, then into high school rodeo for cow cutting. Of course since the girls were into horses I got my own & competed for a few years!
We still own White Pass Garage & have done
well over the years. We have purchased more property around the shop &
added on to the building twice! Our daughter Deborah is now General
Manager & our Grandson is working in the shop part time while going to YV-TECH
Skill Center! |

After high school, I got married to avoid the draft. It didn’t work. I was drafted April 1965 into the U.S. Army. My training was in the medical field, so I became a medic. I was sent to Viet Nam in March, 1966. I was assigned to the 3rd surgical hospital in Bien Hoa. Returned home in January 1967 where I worked for local farmers for a year. In 1968 I was hired in the B.I.A. as a maintenance trainee, where I learned carpentry, electrical, painting, and plumbing. Worked my way up to Supervisor…. and later Manager. Retired from work in 1998 after 32 years and 9 months. I have 5 children and 17 grandchildren. My oldest grandson graduated from White Swan H.S. this year. I played basket ball and softball until 1990. Gave it up because I couldn’t keep up with the younger guys anymore. I have traveled to a lot of places with our veterans group -- The Yakama Warriors Association. We’ve marched in a parade for the 10th anniversary of the Viet Nam Memorial in Washington D.C.; in a parade for Ira Hays in Arizona; and as the Color Guard for the young lady kicked in Iraq. I still do a lot of commercial fishing and sports. I’m enjoying my retirement. I spend time with my grandchildren and traveling. I’m doing my best to not miss this reunion, but I’m also getting ready to travel to Arizona sometime in October for the Color Guard. Robert Wahpat |

I have been married to Butch for 41 years. We had three children; John, Heidi and Bill and we are Nana and Grampa to 8 grandchildren. Our oldest son, John, graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1986 and received his masters degree at the University of Hawaii. At the age of 26 he became an A-10 Thunderbolt Air Force pilot stationed in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. In 1990, while flying training missions for the Gulf War, his plane crashed and he did not survive. He is survived by his (now) 13 year old son, John Jr. Johnny has two step-sisters and lives in West Field, Indiana. Our daughter, Heidi, lives in Graham, Washington with her husband and two sons. She graduated from Arizona State University in 1991. Her life passion is horseback trailriding on her Arabian, Shadowfax. Our youngest son, Bill, lives in Brea, California with his wife and three daughters. He graduated from the University of Southern California in 1992 and also received his masters degree there. He currently is the youngest high school vice-principal in the Orange County School District and has been tapped to become a high school principal within the next school year. Butch taught high school and coached multiple high school and little league sports in Portland, Oregon for 30 years. He received his masters degree from the University of Portland. He retired from teaching in 1999 and began his part-time retirement as a financial planner with Lincoln Financial Advisors. I have spent all of my working years 1965 - 2001 in the health field managing a couple of physician offices and a hospital clinic at Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland. I retired in 2001 and have been enjoying our 8 grandchildren as much as possible. I love to water ski, snow ski, crochet, go camping and ride horses with our daughter. We have taken trips to Washington DC, Germany, Austria, Canada, Hawaii and 21 different states. We now own a brand new 5th wheel and plan to head out again as soon as possible. (Winter down south sounds very tempting.) We currently reside in St. Helens, Oregon on a 16 acre berry farm and orchard up in the woods above the Columbia River off of highway 30. See you all at the reunion! |

As with many of my classmates, I also went into the military. I joined the US Navy in October, 1964, spending 2 tours of duty off Viet Nam. After 11 years in the Navy and a failed marriage, I finally got out of the service. In 1976 I began a new employment opportunity as a Branch Manager/Loan Officer for a Mortgage Company in Tacoma. After several moves, my wife Carolyn and I settled down in Longview and have been here since 1980. I enjoy my work and really have no desire to retire any time soon. I get a great feeling helping families buy a home. My wife Carolyn and I will be celebrating 27 years of marriage this October. We have 2 Children together, 1 from her previous marriage, and 3 from my previous marriange. Together we have 9 grandchildren. Carolyn is a sculptor who does life size children in bronze. She has several of her sculptures placed in public schools and parks. We travel to several art shows each year. She has a great talent and I am extremely proud of her. I have to tell you all about an experience we had in 1999. We were on our way to an art show in Scottsdale, AZ. We were in our motorhome, pulling a trailer full of sculpture. We stopped for gas in Delano, CA. We stopped at one gas station, but couldn't get to the gas pumps. We went across the freeway to another station and had to wait until the lady in front of us completed filling up her car. She kept looking at our motorhome while she filled up. After she was done, she moved her car forward and just sat there. I began filling up the motorhome, and this lady came up and asked what part of Washington I was from. I told her, "Longview", after which she explained that she had just attended a dear friend of hers funeral that day. She told me that her friend was from Yakima, and that he was just 54 years old. I then told her that I too was 54, and had grown up near Yakima, in Toppenish. She then got very emotional, and told me that her friend had also grown up in Toppenish. Her friend was Tom Layman. I told her that I graduated with Tom, and we spoke for quite a while about Tom. Out of the blue, she asked me where my wife was from. I told her that my wife, Carolyn actually grew up right there in Delano. She wanted to know my wife's maiden name. When I told her that it was Fairchild, she got really excited. My wife and her were school mates, and had grown up just a few houses apart. She and Carolyn spent quite some time together talking about their childhood times and friends they had. I don't know about you, but every time I remember this story, it bring chills to me. I believe in God and I truly believe that there was more than coincidences that went together to bring this whole meeting together. Anyway, we are looking forward to being with all of you at the reunion |

After high school, I attended Yakima Valley College for two years and then ventured to the big city of Seattle. I was employed with the University of Washington for two years and then worked in Olympia during the 1970 Legislative Session in the Senate (for my Father) where I met a Lobby Firm (Association of Washington Cities) and was employed with them in Seattle for three years. In 1973, I was hired by the Boeing Company where I remained and retired February 2004; Dan (husband) was able to retire from his Company (United Technologies) at the same time. We sold our home in West Seattle and now live in Kalama, Washington (30 miles north of Portland - Exit #30 off of I-5). We built a new home high on the hill which over- looks the Columbia River and one can see as far north to Longview and as far south to Portland--beautiful! I have a daughter, Heather, whom is age 27 and is a Special Education Teacher in the Puyallup School District. I have been very fortunate to have traveled to Europe several times: Italy, Spain, Holland, Germany, France, Northern Africa, plus 3 cruises to the Caribbean; Dan and I travel to Mazatlan, MX each year where we have a condo. Dan and I are very busy with our Square Dancing Club, Ball Room Dancing Club, traveling and now entertaining in our new home, so please come and visit us soon! Janet
